| Prof. Brig Gen Dr. SM Shameem Waheed completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Barisal. Then he joined the Bangladesh Armed Forces and started his career as a general surgeon by completing grading courses in surgery. He completed FCPS in General Surgery and after that, he worked in different CMHs as a surgeon. Then he completed FCPS in Urology & commenced his career in Urology & finally retired as Professor & Head of the Department of Urology at CMH, Dhaka. Dr. SM Shameem trained at Muljibhai Patel Urology Hospital in Gujarat, India, and earned a San IU (Societe “Internationale d’ Urology) Fellowship. After that he was trained at the National University Hospital, Singapore; Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Kerala; and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India. He established the state-of-the-art Urology Centre at CMH, Dhaka. He performed all types of Urological Surgeries for more than decades. Has trained junior urologists to achieve the highest level of surgical and academic skills. Prof. Brig Gen Dr. SM Shameem Waheed involved in establishing the Kidney Transplant Program at CMH, Dhaka. He established a dedicated and comprehensive Uro-oncology service for the Armed Forces. He is experienced in performing all types of challenging & complicated urological cancer surgeries. |
